Mickey SyrotiakOperations Manager
Mickey began working with animals in 2016 as a multi-species animal care attendant with a special interest in Avians. Since then, he has been working in the veterinary field as a Technician, Client Service Representative, and Manager. He joined the Veterinary Wellness team in 2020. Outside of work, he enjoys living with 4 dogs, Anakin, Achilles, Xena, and Azula, and 3 cats. He also enjoys reading, collecting, gaming, and exploring nature.
Lynn AcquaruloAccounts Payable Manager
Lynn worked as a receptionist at Central Hospital while she was in high school and while pursuing a degree in Biology from Southern Connecticut State University. She assisted with our bookkeeping and office management for several years before leaving to raise a family. Lynn returned full-time to Central in 2007 as our accounts payable manager and is very active in the overall management of our practice. Lynn came to work with the Wellness Center as well as Central when we opened in 2013 and has been a life saver for us.
Christy LucasLead Veterinary Technician
Christy began working with animals in 2008, first as a kennel attendant, then training as a technician assisting the veterinarians in exams, surgeries, and providing client education. She completed an Animal Care Internship at the Beardsley Zoo in 2010 and graduated from the University of New haven with a Bachelor's degree in Biology in 2013. Later that year, Christy joined us here at the Wellness Center
Christy lives in West Haven with her husband, Anthony, their son Anthony, and their German Shepherd/ Rottweiler mix, Grizzly. She also has an older cat named Tiger who lives with her parents. Christy has a life long love of combat sports and has practiced them for over twelve years.
Taylor CarafenoLead Surgical Technician
Taylor has been working with animals since 2010. First as a volunteer at the local animal shelters and also at groomers. After receiving her associates in small animal science at the University of New Hampshire she started as a technician assisting the veterinarians in exams, during surgeries, and other aspects in the field. She has been at the Veterinary Wellness Center since June 2017. She shares her home with her dog Bailey(a labradoodle), Apollo (her bearded dragon), Theodore (her hamster), and Charlie (her goldfish). In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, taking Bailey and her nephew Jase to the beach, and kayaking.
Stephanie BuchananSurgical Technician
Stephanie earned her Bachelor's in Veterinary Technology from Quinnipiac University in 2010, and then became certified in Veterinary Technology. She began working for Central Veterinary Hospital and then came to The Vet Wellness Center in 2015. Stephanie assists us in surgery and works evenings/overnights at Central. She's a New Haven native with special interests in animal behavior, rescue, and advocacy. In her free time, she can be found taking her pit bull, Liam, to dog sport trials and hanging out with her three cats, Zen, Weasley, and Kit.
Dana SmithVeterinary Technician
Dana has been working with animals her whole life and even grew up around them. She had dogs, cats, hamster, and birds. She has volunteered at her local shelter, worked with horses, taken horseback riding lessons, has experience training horses and dogs, worked at a doggy daycare/ boarding and grooming facility, and has grooming experience. All these things she loved led her to seek out a career as a veterinary technician. Dana has a son named Brantley and a dog named Hattie that she rescued from Texas during Hurricane Harvey. In her spare time, Dana loves to sing and listen to music and spend time with her friends and family.
Jackie RodriguezVeterinary Technician
Jackie has been in the veterinary field since 2013. She loves the fast-paced environment of being a technician and the variety of tasks that must be performed with each patient. She enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of not only the animals but their owners. Outside of work, Jackie enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her three dogs named Zeus, Ellie and Cookie.
Rosie VegaVeterinary Technician
Rosie’s first job with animals was at a dog bakery! After graduating college, she took an unexpected turn and began working in a grooming salon as a dog bather and eventually taking a job as a dog trainer. Rosie’s life took her away from a career with animals, but she found herself missing something. An opportunity in the veterinary field opened up and she quickly found out that is where she was meant to be. When Rosie isn't spending time with your furry friends, she is with her two chihuahuas, TL and Nibs. Rosie also loves knitting, watching Supernatural, the fall, and all things spooky.
Lauren PicheVeterinary Technician
Lauren recently started in the vet med field, but has been helping animals for as long as she can remember. She is currently in school to further her career and knowledge in this field. Her hobbies include reading and she loves Halloween. Outside of work, she splits her time between her husband, Brandon, and two sons, Nolan and Cooper. Along with her fur babies, Whiskey, a wire haired dachshund, Vada, a Belgian Malinois. And Binx, a tuxedo kitty.
Mary Ann BatesVeterinary Receptionist
Mary Ann started her career in the veterinary field in 1989 as a kennel attendant at New Haven Central Hospital. Through the years, she has assisted veterinarians during exams, surgeries, and is always a friendly face ready to greet clients and patients as they arrive. Mary Ann currently lives in Branford with her son Tyler and daughter Beth. They share their home with their dog, Jay Jay and their new kitten, Kitton. In her free time, she enjoys crafts and scrapbooking.
Marina SalickiVeterinary Receptionist
Marina has been working with animals since she was 16 years old. She started out as a Kennel Attendant, mainly taking care of young puppies and kittens. Since then, she has expanded her knowledge and experience with animals, and has a special interest in reptiles. Outside of work, Marina enjoys exploring New England’s landscape and has an affinity for horticulture. She has a snake named Sanjay, a rabbit named Rhubarb, and a Keeshond named Amira. She also has a host of insects and aquatic creatures that she loves to take care of.
Linda ChoVeterinary Assistant
Linda started working with animals as a kennel attendant while going to school at the University of Connecticut, and then switching to Middlesex Community College to get a certificate in Veterinary Assisting. She has and always will have a passion for working and helping animals, even though she is back in school for a different degree. Linda currently has 3 dogs and 3 cats that she calls her own. In her spare time, she loves reading and watching her dogs romp around outside on a nice day!
